Winter is Here
For the first time in what feels like a long time, California is having an actual winter. Well, I guess “winter” is relative. Compared to most of the rest of the country, winter might not be an accurate description. ;) For us, however, it feels like a real winter with temps occasionally dropping down to the 40’s and even 30’s in the morning and at night. We’ve had our fair share of beautiful days (like the day we shot this outfit), but it’s mostly been overcast, wet, cold, and rainy. We’ve gotten more rain than we have in a long time, which is great because we really needed it. For the 3 years we’ve been living in Santa Cruz, this is the first January where we haven’t had some 70 degree days (at least not yet).
Needless to say, layers, sweaters, jeans, and booties have been my go-to. And now that Christmas is over, I’m ready for summer! Ha. That happens every year. As soon as the holidays are finished, I’m ready for warm weather. I’m reminding myself to enjoy the current season, though. It’s going to be gone in the blink of an eye so while I’m stoked for summer, I’m going to enjoy the last few months of the coziness that comes with the chill of winter.
