Versatility, Style, & Function: 1 Outfit, 3 Ways

Athleta street tights

If you follow me on Instagram, you know my already casual style has only gotten more casual and functional since becoming a mom. There are plenty of days when I end up in workout clothes for most of the day (even though I honestly haven’t been working out much lately) or jeans and t-shirt. Day-to-day comfort and function are key so I’m always trying to find pieces that fit those two criteria but are also comfy.

When I found out I had the opportunity to work with Athleta on a post, I was really excited. Athleta is a brand I’ve wanted to try for years – I’ve always thought they had a great assortment of products and that their leggings were super cool. I’m excited to be able to report my thoughts!

Athleta’s street tights fit the bill for versatility, functionality, comfort, and style.  The Luxe Ponte Legging I’m wearing here (wearing a size small) is super comfy and they’re high waisted so they hug everything in nicely. Also, I know lots of people do it but I refuse to wear leggings as pants unless it’s a workout look or I’m lounging at home. This pair changes that completely. Because of all leather panels, side seams, and zippers, I feel totally comfortable wearing them as legit pants with regular shoes. It also takes them from a boring pair of leggings to stylish, interesting, and a little edgy.

The Cityscape Sweatshirt is also fantastic and I’ll probably be living in it, but I own a lot of grey sweatshirts so I may be biased towards them. ;) #canthavetoomany I love that this one has the two front zips and is a little bit longer in the back.

I wanted to style the street tights and the sweatshirt 3 different ways to show you how both pieces really can be worn a variety of different ways for different circumstances just by swapping out a few things. Check out the looks below!

Look 1 : EVERYDAY ATHLEISURE

The first look is such an easy everyday look. Paired with the Responsible Down Vest on cooler days & sneakers, it’s perfect for a foggy morning walk, running errands, or even a short workout that can easily take you through the rest of the day without having to change. If you’re thinking “ew that’s gross,” just wait until you become a mom! ;) Outfits that can take you through the whole day are game changers.

Look 2 : POLISHED PROFESSIONAL

The second look is perfect for anything you want to feel a little more put together for – a coffee date, an afternoon work session, a meeting, or even if you’re just out and want to feel a little more polished. It’s as simple as swapping out your shoes for flats (or even heels if you’re adventurous!) and a blazer. P.S. Please ignore my hair in this outfit – I don’t know what it’s doing…or not doing.

Look 3: EDGY NIGHT OUT

The third look might actually be my favorite even though it’s probably the look I wear the least frequently. Throw on a cami, some heeled boots, and a pair of statement earrings and you’re ready for a night out – whether it’s dinner with girlfriends, a movie with your guy, or a concert with a group of friends. I love that the sweatshirt tied around the waist, the boots, and the leather panels give it a little bit of a more edgy, rock-and-roll vibe while the earrings and cami keep it feminine, sexy, and fun.

If you’re like me and appreciate versatility, functionality, and style rolled into one, I highly recommend checking out Athleta’s fall arrivals, especially the street tights! I’d also love to hear what your favorite go-to versatile pieces are!
