Slowly but surely we’ve been getting settled in to our new place. It already feels more like home than anywhere else we’ve lived (besides our childhood homes). Plus, the 70 degree weather and constant sunshine have been a warm welcome. There was a lot of back and forth between Santa Cruz and San Jose over the last week and a half because of Christmas so it will be nice to be home with no agenda for awhile to really get some unpacking, organizing, and decorating done. We’re having my dad’s side of the family over on Sunday for a post-Christmas party and I’m so excited because it’s our first time hosting a family event at our place! #growingup ;)
How was your guys’ Christmas?! Seth worked Christmas Eve until Christmas morning so I stayed at my parents’ that night and we kept it pretty low key, which is a big change of pace for us, but it was so nice. We spent Christmas morning at my parents’ since I was already there and made our way to Seth’s parents’ the second half of the day to open gifts and eat a delicious dinner. I am so thankful that we have such amazing, loving families. This time of year really makes it clear what is important and what is not. Family is definitely at the top of the important list.
My aim for the next week is to tie up any loose ends, reflect on this past year, and think about what I want for the next one. Also, my 25th birthday is in a week! 25. I seriously can’t believe I’m going to be 25. That feels really adult. Just about one more week of 2013 and one more week of 24. I better enjoy it!
