As mentioned in this post, I’m always on the hunt for great yoga wear, especially yoga pants. When I came across YOGASMOGA online, I immediately felt connected to the brand. 1. The site was beautiful and clean. 2. The products were cute, looked comfy, and came in a lot of colors. 3. The company values, ethics, principles, and socially and environmentally responsible practices made me immediately want to support them.

The folks over at YOGASMOGA were kind enough to send me the Run Jump ‘n Play Crops and the Twistie Tank to try out and review for you guys. Scroll to the bottom to see what I have to say!

First up, the Twistie Tank.

THE PROS: The cut of the front and the straps are really flattering. As someone with a smaller chest, I almost always prefer spaghetti strap tops and bras because they are less overwhelming. Also, sometimes built-in sports bras just don’t work for me if they’re not tight enough. This one fit perfectly. It was super comfy and I felt totally supported and held in in all the right spots through my entire practice.

THE CONS: Okay, so I have a weird thing with tight fitting shirts. I just don’t like them and almost never wear them. Fitted is the closest I’ll get, but if it hugs me, it highlights my little love handles a little too much for my liking. Simply put, they just aren’t very flattering on me. Overall, I loved this top, but my biggest problem was getting over the tightness. I’d say it runs a bit small. I’m wearing a size 4, which is my usual size, and felt the built in sports bra band was just a bit too snug and cut in a bit so I’d go up a size if I got this tank again (the bra part itself was perfect, the band was the tight part). So although it runs a bit small, my only complaint is that it’s too tight, which is the nature of this top so it’s clearly just not the right style for me. If you like tighter workout tops and have more of an hourglass shape, then this could be a great top for you. It’s super comfy, flattering, and supportive, plus it comes in a lot of fun colors.

On to the Run Jump ‘n Play Crop.

THE PROS: I’m just gonna say it – these are my best fitting yoga pants and might be my favorite. These are also my usual size 4 and fit like a glove. Some of my other yoga pants (even my Lululemons) sometimes bunch weird in the crotch, which is totally not a good look. These don’t do that at all. I  also love the just-slightly-longer length of these. I think it’s so much more flattering than crops that hit just below the knee. The “skinny-no muffin waistband” really does do a good job of sucking everything in. I’ve walked out of my heated power yoga class several times in them dripping wet, washed them each time, and they still look the same. No fading or changing shape.

THE CONS: Although the band does a great job of holding everything in, I wish it was just about half an inch lower and that the seam at the very top was a bit more elastic. Obviously every body will fit a little differently so this is just a personal preference. The one major drawback to these pants is that they are a tiny bit sheer. When I tried them on at home, I didn’t notice it at all. But when I was in the bathroom at my parents’ house, which was much brighter, I tested them again and noticed it there. It’s not super obvious, but if you bend over in a forward fold or downward dog, you can see a tint of skin tone. One thing I will note though – somehow yoga pants seem to be sheer on me when they’re not on other people. I don’t know if it’s my bubble butt or what, but most yoga pants (and almost every single pair I own) are at least a tiny bit sheer when I bend over. I’ve tested this with my sisters and it only seems to happen to me so maybe it’s a personal problem. ;) I haven’t quite found a solution yet.

Overall, I highly recommend the Run Jump ‘n Play crops. Like I said, they’re my best fitting and probably most comfortable yoga pants (I have my eye on the Tickled Pink pair next). I’m OCD about sheerness so you may not even notice it, especially if you haven’t had any problems with sheerness in other pants. If you’re into form fitting workout tanks, definitely try the Twistie tank, but consider a size up. If you really don’t like a snug fit like me, you might skip it. It’s totally a personal preference on style and what’s flattering on your body.

I’m thrilled to have found a company whose values I can stand behind and feel good about supporting. Coupled with an awesome product, I’m one happy customer. Two cheers for awesome products from companies making our world a better place!
