Happy Friday, friends! Sorry for my lack of posts this week – it’s been a weird week. The past few days I’ve just felt totally unmotivated and at a constant battle with myself between not caring at all if anything gets done and getting frustrated with myself for not getting anything done. It’s been weird, but I’m trying not to get too upset with myself and just accept it was an off week. Getting down on myself is just going to make me feel worse so I’m just trying to let it go and move on.

Anyway, on to the fun stuff! I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned this on here, but I recently decided to move my desk into the spare bedroom and use it as an office/guest bedroom (duh, I know). Before, my desk was in our room, but I quickly realized if it stayed there, it would stay buried under piles of clothes and I would never get anything done.

I found this super cute white futon originally on, but thankfully I checked Craigslist because I found someone selling it locally for 80 bucks. Score! I still need a chair for my desk and after originally wanting this one, I think I’m going to settle for the Target version that’s less than half the price of the other one but still really cute and modern. I have a filing cabinet almost identical to the CB2 one that I painted white, but I may paint it a different color because there’s already a lot of white in the room (walls, desk, futon). Using the file cabinet as a side table gives me the storage I need for office supplies and files, but also gives me a surface to add some personality with decorations.

I definitely don’t have a lot of money to spend on this so I’m glad I’ve been able to find a lot of good deals so far. If you look, you can find them! Have a great weekend!

All shoes via ShoeDazzle.

You may remember when I mentioned ShoeDazzle in this post. Well, I just had to share more. Shoes are my weakness, if you couldn’t tell. I’ve found quite a few pairs I would love to add to my closet. The  worst/best part (depending if you ask me or Seth) is that they’re quite affordable. So of course I feel like I should buy four pairs instead of just one! Duh. Totally logical. Anyway, I thought some shoe goodness wouldn’t be the worst way to leave you for the weekend.

Have a good one!

This is not a sponsored post. I just feel like it’s my moral duty to share such pretty shoes. ;)

As warmer weather approaches, I gravitate towards light, looser fits and brighter colors. Whenever I go to the beach, I usually grab comfy denim shorts and a slouchy tee or tank. They’re just so easy. I’ve been obsessed with the Free People Awesome Destroyed Baggies for awhile now and recently came across their Keep Me Tee, which looks like the perfect fit. I’ll take one in every color, please. ;) I’ve been pretty good about not shopping for clothes lately and my intent when I do shop next is to get something I really love and will wear a lot so I think my next purchase may be the tee and jeans even if they are more than I would typically spend. I feel like I would wear them all summer – to the beach, to BBQs, dressed up for a night out – the possibilities are endless.

This weekend is supposed to be super nice. I have a huge urge to go to the beach, but we can’t yet take Bailey with us because she doesn’t have all her shots. We have to wait at least six months to take her anywhere public because rotties are so susceptible to parvo. :( So we’ll probably be enjoying the sunshine from home. We have a lot to do around the house anyway so hopefully we’ll have a productive weekend. Do you have any plans this weekend?

Happy Friday!

If you read yesterday’s post, you know that one of my focuses for the next two months is my home. The first thing I want to tackle is setting up a work station in our bedroom. We have a perfect corner that is home to an old desk (and currently, a huge pile of clothes, random wall art, and some Christmas gifts), but I want something simple that I don’t have paint or DIY. I had my eye on this Ikea desk because it’s simple, cheap, has a lot of shelves, and makes good use of the aforementioned corner. The problem is that it’s an inch too deep and out of stock at our local Ikea. I’ve been looking around, but desks are expensive! Any suggestions?

After eyeing the adorable pig bookends for awhile, I decided to purchase them the other day (and found out you can use Crate & Barrel gift cards at CB2 – woohoo!). I’m so excited to get them in the mail! I found the Kate Spade iPhone case while perusing their site – it is my go-to phone case source, after all – and loved that it was functional and a great color combo (obviously). My current phone case is in really sad shape from dropping it so often so when I found the case on sale at Lord & Taylor, I knew I had to get it. So many great surprises this week!

The best surprise was that I got up early and went to a 6am hot pilates class today. Yes, this is a surprise for me. I’m not a morning person and despite my efforts, never seem to be able to get up early to exercise. But not today, people! I am in such a good mood because of it – not sure if it’s the endorphins or the fact that I’m so proud of myself. Or both. Whatever it is, I like it.

I hope you guys have an awesome weekend. I’m walking in The Lab Event tomorrow so I’ll be in Sonoma most of the day. Seth starts a new work schedule this weekend and has Sunday off so I get to spend the day with him, and I’m so excited about it. A Sunday with my husband – who would have thought?!

Happy Friday!

As you can see, many of my favorite holiday dresses that I’ve come across have been from ASOS and Nordstrom. They both have a great variety right now. I love how girly and twirly the Alice + Olivia Aubree embellished dress is. The Tadashi Shoji textured lace dress is so elegant, and I love the sheer panels on the bottom. I could totally see Blair wearing it in an episode of Gossip Girl. To say I’m obsessed with the Burberry London peplum dress is an understatement. If only… The Orla Kiely drop waist dress is the classic Christmas red, but the drop waist makes it so playful. You could easily dress it up or down. My two favorites are the Tonal Stripe Fit and Flare dress and the Warehouse Feather Hem dress. I love that they both have classic shapes with fun features like the punchy chartreuse color with buttons down the back and the sheer shoulders, velvet, and feathers. So many great options. I wish I had a reason to dress up!

ZARA jackets

Um, you guys. Zara is killing it right now with their jacket selection. I get to the jacket page and I’m like Ohh, I like that one. And that one. Oh, and that one! No wait, thattt oneeee. And this goes on until I’ve scrolled through all the jackets they carry. I’m always drawn towards their jackets and somehow find myself wanting needing so many different styles. Yes, needing. That’s how I feel when I’m on their website (because you need a blazer, a long coat, a short coat, a black coat, a camel coat, a leather jacket, a trench…the list goes on). For example, the jacket on the bottom right. I have this really deep seated need to get that jacket in my closet NOW. Like somehow my life won’t be quite complete without it. Like all my other jackets just will. not. do. This probably isn’t healthy. Please tell me I’m not alone?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Now that the wedding is only a few months away, I’m getting really excited for the honeymoon. Being in Costa Rica, we’ll be going on a lot of adventures so I know I’ll need to bring the basics – t-shirts, light sweaters, easy button-ups, denim, tennis shoes, etc. I don’t know exactly what to expect so I’m planning on bringing a lot of things that can go day to night, like a printed summer dress or shorts that you can wear with sandals and a hat during the day or bright heels and piles of jewelry at night. There aren’t any swim suits on this list, but I plan on bringing tons. I’m sure I’ll be practically living in them. I also think it’s important to have a big worn in bag that will fit a lot of stuff when traveling and will only get more character when beat up a bit. I plan on fitting a small cross body bag inside for days when we’re exploring towns and little shops.

Happy Weekend!

It’s been far too long since I’ve done a Friday Favorites. Browsing the Topshop site, I came across so many cute summer dresses, I had to feature multiple. And then I got to the trouser section and almost died. The baby blue polka dot pair are calling my name! Whenever I’m shopping, I always gravitate towards dresses, especially online. But when it comes to what I actually wear, pants & shorts win by a landslide (which is why I featured both pants and dresses). Not sure why. I’ll definitely be trying to actually wear the dresses I buy this summer.I’m so happy it’s Friday. I have been so exhausted this week and I don’t know why. I think my body is trying to recover from Stagecoach. I’m working both days this weekend, but I’m hoping to get some wedding stuff done and still have a little fun. Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!!

You guys have no idea how happy I am that it’s the weekend. Seth and I are going to the movies tonight to see The Vow (I think he secretly enjoys the love stories even though he acts like he’s doing it just for me). I can’t tell you how long it’s been since we have gone to the movies – thank you free passes! On Sunday, I’m hoping to buy my wedding dress! I can’t stop thinking about it – I’m SO excited!

I would seriously love to make some of those babies up there yonder mine. Those metallic heels and color block clutch especially. And isn’t that red sweater so perfect for throwing on over cut offs or jeans and taking a trip the beach? I plan on trying Baby Lips by Maybelline. My lips are always so dry and chapped, and it drives me nuts. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! We have been having some amazinggg weather here so I’m hoping it will stay that way while I’m not stuck inside. See you guys on Monday!

Oh my gosh. You guys. I am so excited.
1. It’s Friday. 2. Those booties.
They’re now $44.70 AND they have my size! I’ve been wanting them for awhile, but didn’t want to spend $100. So happy I checked on them again! Lately I’ve been looking at home decor and dresses. I’ve been doing a good job with not shopping (the booties are an exception – I couldn’t pass that up!). But once we move out, I plan to decorate gradually and as inexpensively as possible. I also have been on the lookout for dresses for engagement photos. I kind of love #7 up there. The color, the shape, the lace. Swoon. The other dresses, well, I just want them. Can you blame me?

Do you guys have any plans this weekend? Tomorrow will be eventful for me. Seth is out of town, but I’m going to look at two venues to see if they might be an option. And thennn, I’m going to The Lab Event in Sonoma with my mom, sisters, soon-to-be-but-practically-already-is-mom-in-law, and Lauren from L.A. in the Bay! I’m so excited. I think it will be really helpful and fun, and I’m so excited to meet the bloggers that will be starring in the fashion show! As for Sunday, I get to have dinner with my favorite girls! It should be a good weekend despite the fact the fiance (that is still so strange) is away.

Happy Weekend, friends!

Anthropologie Tie-Dye Monogram Ornaments, $8
West Elm Hammam Stripe Hand Towel, $10
Neiman Marcus E-Reader Cases, $60
I would use one as a clutch!
Neiman Marcus Monogrammed iPhone 4 Case, $56
West Elm Glass Bottles with Wood Stoppers, $29-$39
Pottery Barn Monogrammable Throw, $39
Apple iPad 2, $499+
If you’re feeling generous.
RedEnvelope Leather Excursion E-Reader Case, $69.95

Monogrammed items are always great gifts because they add a little something personal even if the gift is something simple. All the gifts in the top row are fantastic affordable gifts that can be given to literally anyone. They are also great for large groups of people (coworkers, for example) because even though you’re getting everyone the same thing, the gift is still personalized. My favorites from this are the colored e-reader cases, those striped hand towels (obsessed), and the phone cases (Etsy has tons).

Do you guys have anything exciting in store for this weekend? We are having my dad’s side of the family over tomorrow to celebrate Christmas. Our newest tradition (this is our third year) is to get together in December and go shopping in teams of 3-5 people. Everyone picks a name from a hat (kids pick kids, adults pick adults) and then each team gets to go shopping wherever they want – usually Target, Walmart, etc. While shopping, everyone spends $10 on a gift for the person they picked. All teams have to be back at the house by a certain time. This year, we are adding a wrapping contest into the mix. And guess what? I get to be a judge! My aunt nominated my grandma, my uncle, and me. I’m sure it will be a fierce contest.

Have a wonderful weekend, you guys!

It’s Friday! Woohoo! I haven’t even thought about what I’m going to do this weekend, but I’m so ready. If you missed my outfit post yesterday (since I posted it rather late), you can check it out here. We finally got ourselves some cold weather here in Northern California – rain and all. I’m layered up today. I have to admit that us Californians don’t handle cold weather well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally enjoying it, but it hits like 40 degrees and we think it’s FREEZING. Whatever the weather is like where you are, I hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable weekend!

P.S. Aren’t those the cutest rainboots you’ve ever seen?! I’m obsessed!

Isn’t that just the best movie ever? Sound of Music, that is. It’s an all time favorite for sure. Since I’m all about favorites today, here are some of my current favorites that I’m obsessing over. Maybe this will turn into a weekly thing. We shall see!

Any exciting weekend plans? Seth and I will probably be spending most of our time with his family since his grandparents are visiting from Alabama. His brother has a hockey tournament this weekend, so we will be at the rink quite often…surprise, surprise! We’re so excited they’re here though. Last night I was complaining about my awful canker sore and his grandma says, “I have something that can fix that!” She whipped out her Abreva and even gave it to me to keep. I love grandmas – they have the solution to every problem in life.

We will certainly have a weekend filled with our favorite things: grandparents, skating rinks, and family dinners. Wishing you a weekend full of your favorite things!
