Bringing Back the Boot Cut

I never thought in a million years I’d wear boot cut jeans again, but here I am wearing boot cut jeans! I found this pair of jeans from high school in a drawer and just thought they were cool. Years and years ago, I cut out this photo of Nicole Richie wearing boot cut jeans and sandals and I’ve loved it ever since so that’s what I channeled here.

I think the key is to find a pair of jeans that’s more like a really narrow flare with a tight fit all the way down through the knee. The narrower flare will keep them from looking sloppy when worn with flats. I also think they should touch the ground but not be too long – some slight piling around the foot is fine, but too much and it will look like a mess.  I love the boho feel this gives to an outfit so I paired the jeans with this Lou & Grey loopy sweater to add some texture.
