Santa Cruz has me drawn to a lot of brights, prints, and knits as the weather gets warmer. They keep basic pieces fun, lively, and cozy when it cools down. I’m also finding myself drawn to embroidery, tassels, fringe, tie dye, distressing, flowy and slouchy fits, and basically everything at Free People. I think the free spiritedness that comes with living by the beach is making me more interested in pieces I would typically overlook.

It’s so interesting how your environment can completely affect and inspire your style. My heels have taken a back seat to flip flops and bare feet. I still bust them out when I can, but they definitely get worn much less than before we moved here. As much as my love my heels, I love bare feet almost as much so I kind of don’t mind. Plus, in a battle over heels and the ocean, the ocean wins every time.
